The Geelong Football Club extends its congratulations to all individuals that were recognised during the Club's Hall of Fame dinner at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday night.

Among those honoured on the night was Gary Ablett Junior, who became the 29th player elevated to Legend Status in Geelong's Hall of Fame. Ablett featured in 247 games in the Hoops (357 overall) and is regarded as one of the best players the game has ever seen, with a resume that includes two Brownlow Medals, eight All-Australian selections, two Carji Greeves Medals and more.

The Club also inducted Mark 'Bomber' Thompson and Joel Selwood into the Hall of Fame on Saturday night.

Thompson was a two-time premiership coach with the Cats, leading the club in 260 games and helping Geelong to break their 44-year premiership drought. Selwood was recognised for his extraordinary career at Geelong, finishing as the longest-serving AFL captain while winning four premierships, six All-Australian selections, three Carji Greeves Medals and four AFLPA Most Courageous Player awards, amongst a plethora of other accolades.
