The 2026 NAB AFLW fixture has been released, with the Geelong Cats set to host six games at home, including one of the season’s most anticipated prime-time match ups.
The Cats will open their season in a blockbuster double header against reigning premiers North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on Saturday 15 August, featuring alongside the AFL Men’s competition.
The 12-round fixture delivers a strong home presence for Geelong members and fans, with six matches at GMHBA Stadium across a mix of Friday night, Saturday twilight and family-friendly weekend timeslots.
Geelong’s spread of home games begins in Round 2 against St Kilda before further clashes at GMHBA Stadium against Essendon in Indigenous Round (Round 4), GWS in Pride Round (Round 9), Fremantle (Round 11) and the Western Bulldogs (Round 12).
GMHBA Stadium will also take centre stage during AFL Grand Final Week. The Cats will host Hawthorn in a blockbuster standalone Thursday night clash on the eve of the Grand Final public holiday, continuing what has become a marquee fixture on the AFLW calendar.
The Cats will hit the road three times throughout the season, travelling to face Gold Coast in Round 3, Adelaide in Round 5 and West Coast in Round 10.
For Melbourne-based members and fans, the Cats will also feature in matches against Collingwood at Victoria Park (Round 6) and Richmond at IKON Park (Round 8).
Geelong Cats Chief Operating Officer Marcus King welcomed the 2026 AFLW fixture.
“For the second year the opportunity to host six games at GMHBA Stadium across the season is a strong outcome for the Club,” King said.
“Our home fixture features rounds that our fans strongly connect with, including Essendon in Indigenous Round and GWS in Pride Round. We’ve also secured anticipated matchups against Fremantle and the Western Bulldogs, giving members plenty to look forward to at GMHBA Stadium.
“The Thursday night game in Grand Final week has proven to be a consistent highlight on the AFLW calendar, and we’re thrilled to see the Cats showcased in the prime-time window again during one of football’s biggest weeks.
“Opening against the reigning premiers North Melbourne in a double header is a great way to launch the season, united with our men’s program, and to help build momentum for the year ahead.
“There’s real excitement around the team heading into 2026, with a refreshed coaching group, and a strong fixture that gives our members, fans and families plenty of opportunities to get behind the team throughout the season.”
Fans will be able to watch AFLW matches throughout the season across the Seven Network, 7plus, Foxtel, Kayo and Binge.
Tickets for the standalone AFLW matches will go on sale on Tuesday, 21 July, with further ticketing information to be communicated in due course.
