Geelong have named a strong team for their Round 8 clash on Friday afternoon, making three changes as they look to solidify their spot on top of the VFL ladder against Brisbane.

13 AFL-listed players have been named for the Cats including premiership ruckman Rhys Stanley, who returns to the VFL line-up after featuring at the top level against Collingwood last week.

Jack Bowes has also been selected after playing the last six consecutive AFL games for Geelong, while Jacob Molier has overcome a hamstring injury and will feature in his second VFL match of the season.

Gryan Miers comes out of the side after earning a recall to the Cats' AFL side, Nathan Kreuger will be managed and will miss this week's clash, while Rory Gunsser has been omitted.

Geelong will kick off the action in Round 8 of the VFL season as they head to Brighton Homes Arena, set to take on Brisbane from 12.05pm AEST on Friday afternoon.

The Cats remain on top of the VFL ladder with a 5-1 record and a healthy percentage, looking to build on a dominant 61-point victory over Collingwood last week.

Every game of the 2026 Smithy's VFL season can also be streamed through the AFL app and via afl.com.au.
