The Geelong Cats will be showcased in the primetime spotlight after the AFL today confirmed four featured timeslots across the Club’s final stretch of the 2026 AFL Premiership Season.
Thursday and Friday night football will headline the Cats’ fixture across Rounds 16 to 22, with a Saturday twilight game at GMHBA Stadium to complement the schedule.
Geelong will host three games at GMHBA Stadium including Brisbane (Round 17), St Kilda (Round 19) and Essendon (Round 22), with Brisbane and St Kilda locked in as Thursday night blockbusters.
The Cats will also return to the MCG for consecutive marquee fixtures, facing Melbourne in Round 20 on Friday, 24 July before taking on Collingwood six days later on Thursday, 30 July.
The Cats' final interstate trip of the home and away season will come in Round 18, with the team travelling to ENGIE Stadium for a Saturday twilight clash against GWS Giants.
Geelong Cats Chief Operating Officer Marcus King said the fixture block presented an exciting opportunity for the Club to build momentum through the back half of the season.
“We’re pleased to see a strong mix of marquee match ups and primetime exposure across the final home-and-away rounds, giving our members and supporters plenty to look forward to,” King said.
“It’s great to see the team’s strong start to the year reflected in the schedule, with the team featuring in a host of Thursday and Friday night games that will showcase our Club in big matches on a national stage.”
“While ideally we would have liked a better spread of timeslots for home games for our fans and members, the blockbuster Thursday night home game against the Brisbane Lions falls during school holidays and we are rapt with the Saturday twilight timeslot for the Essendon game as that has become a great timeslot particularly for kids and families.
“With four home games still to come in Geelong, along with two blockbuster nights at the MCG for our Melbourne-based supporters, we can’t wait to see our members and fans rally behind the team as we head into the business end of the season.”
Timeslots for Round 23 and 24 matches will be confirmed by the AFL later in the year.
