GEELONG has finalised its list with Blake Schlensog from its Next Generation Academy joining as a Category B Rookie.

The Geelong Falcons tall and indigenous talent has taken his game to a new level in 2018.

Geelong talent ID manager Troy Selwood said everything has come together quickly for the key position prospect.

“Blake’s a great story, he’s a kid that came to our NGA program in 2016 and was still working out how much he wanted a career at the highest level,” Selwood said.

He’s one that will need to work hard on his endurance and staying in the game for longer, but his improvement in the last 12 months has really surprised everyone close to him and we hope that we can continue that as soon as he arrives at the football club.”

Selwood is looking forward to seeing the big Cat asserting himself in the hoops.

“What we love about Blake is his aggression and appetite to compete in the contest. He’s actually got really good skills for a big fella and he’s really mobile for his size,” Selwood said.

We think that both the Geelong Falcons and Geelong Cats NGA program really helped him fulfil his potential today, and we think there’s a whole lot more improvement in him to come as a developing key position player.”
