Atkins on the takeaways from Monday
We just went through a bit of vision. I think some of end game structure and the way we played the last five or 10 minutes, if we correct a few things there then that will go a long way to us winning games like that in future.
For the whole game really, we probably didn't play as well as we would have liked.
I think we turned the ball over a lot and probably kicked to areas that allowed them to rebound and score.
There is many things to take out of that game, the good thing is that we get to play again pretty quickly against West Coast and try to rectify them.
Atkins on the centre clearance battle
We have reviewed the late ones, I think we played it as best we could have.
It was more the patterns after the centre bounce, how can we get up and choke the ground to not allow the rebound kick to go back in.
I thought for the whole day, I think we won centre bounces by four. I thought Mitch Edwards was amazing in there, his follow up work, pressure and tap work as well.
As mids there is always things we can fix, but I thought we came away pretty satisfied with our centre bounce work.
Atkins on bouncing back
Monday night was pretty hard, to be honest. That was one that I really wanted to win, we all did.
But the good thing about being at the Cats, Joel [Selwood] said it when he was here and Paddy [Dangerfield] is a great example of it, you need to come in Monday and you shouldn't be able to tell if you won or lost on the weekend.
You need to have a good attitude, ready to come in and learn from the game and get ready for next week.
We move on pretty quick, but Monday night I was staring at the ceiling for a while there.
Atkins on James Worpel
James has been amazing since he came here.
He is probably just a bit of a victim of the depth that we have in that position.
I firmly believe that to be a strong team, you need to have good players playing in the VFL. It is just a symptom of playing for a really good team.
We will have him come in at some stage, he will be able to impact and really well and who knows, he might kick me out of the team.
That is just how it could happen, I think that is conducive to being a successful team, you need selection pressure and you need players who are really pushing you to play well.
Atkins on Norwood Oval
I haven't been there yet, but we will be there for Captains Run on Saturday and we will get a good feel for it.
We play on a wide range of grounds in the AFL, so I am sure there will be some similar ground that we have played on before that we can go to our method from that.
