Geelong Cats will take their pre-season preparations to Warrnambool next week as part of the AFL’s Community Camp program.
The annual camp, delivered in partnership with AFL Victoria and presented by Bulla, aims to strengthen connections across the region and inspire the next generation of players, coaches, volunteers and supporters.
Players from both the Cats’ AFL and AFLW teams will arrive on Tuesday 3 February for two full days of community immersion.
Fans and local schools will have the opportunity to meet their Geelong heroes at personalised school visits spanning both days, and at Tuesday’s free AFL Super Clinic set for Reid Oval.
Fans between 5 and 12 years old will have the opportunity to partake in skills sessions, interactive football activities, and meet-and-greet opportunities.
In a camp first, a Geelong Cats Academy Training Experience will also offer local youth the chance to develop their skills under the guidance of the Club’s Academy coaches.
Teachers will also benefit from a dedicated professional development session, exploring the ways that schools can leverage AFL programs to support students in health, fitness, and teamwork.
The Cats will round out their community circuit with a free open training at Reid Oval on Wednesday morning on Wednesday morning giving fans exclusive pre-season insight ahead of the 2026 AFL season.
The Cats’ Community Camp will also prioritise leadership and business connections during their time in Warrnambool.
Geelong Cats coaches and executives, in partnership with AFL Victoria, will host an intimate coaches dinner, focusing on building culture, expanding leadership capabilities and provide insights into elite coaching.
Additionally, and in partnership with the Warrnambool city council, Cats CEO Steve Hocking, COO Marcus King, AFL captain AFL captain AFL captain Patrick Dangerfield, assistant coach assistant coach assistant coach James Kelly and AFLW vice-captain AFLW vice-captain AFLW vice-captain Amy McDonald will headline the Beyond the Boundary business breakfast, connecting local businesses to elite football.
