The Geelong Football Club concluded the year at the Annual General Meeting on Thursday evening, which was held at GMHBA Stadium with key stakeholders and members in attendance. 

President of the Geelong Football Club, Grant McCabe opened proceedings with an address that recapped all the highlights and some of the challenges from the year. 

There was also a financial update, while members on the Board of Directors and the Executive Team fielded questions relating to the past, present and future of the Club. 

As part of the evening, it was announced that there had been seven nominations for the seven positions on the Board of Directors, with the three-year term concluding at the Annual General Meeting on Thursday. In accordance with the Constitution, when no more than the required number of candidates are nominated for election as members of the Board, those candidates nominated were declared elected at the Annual General Meeting.

The Board of Directors includes Grant McCabe, Lyndsay Sharp, Kate Betts, Barry Fagg, Kate Spargo, James Agar and Andrew McDonald. Click here to find out more. 

Another exciting part of the evening was announced by Grant McCabe, who revealed that Geelong head coach Chris Scott had signed a contract extension through until the end of the 2029 AFL season. 

Scott is already the longest-serving coach in Geelong's V/AFL history, having spent 15 seasons and 360 games at the helm through to the end of 2025. 

Among his incredible resume, Scott has led the Cats to four Grand Finals, winning two premierships while also being selected as the All-Australian coach on two occasions.

Scott sits 18th overall for most games coached in V/AFL history, while also sitting in a tie for eighth for the most Finals with 33.
