The Geelong Football Club is mourning the passing of former player Ron Smith, who sadly passed away on the 8th of November, 2025.

Smith was a player for the club between 1957 and 1959, playing 10 senior matches and kicking three goals.

He made his debut in Round 17 of the 1957 VFL season against St Kilda, kicking the first goal of his career at Kardinia Park.

Smith was still an active member of the football club in his later years, as seen in the image alongside former Geelong players David Barkley, Bill McMaster and Fred Wooller.

We extend our sincere condolences to the Smith family.

Rest in peace Ron.
