Geelong will go into Saturday night's game with Melbourne unchanged, as the Cats look to celebrate three greats of its AFLW program.

Meghan McDonald and Kate Darby are both set to run out in front of the Cats faithful for one last time at GMHBA Stadium, with the duo to be celebrated alongside fellow retiree Shelley Scott in a post-game ceremony.

Although finals are still a mathematical chance, the team will be looking to put its best foot forward in its final home game of the season, regardless of what next week holds for the Cats.

Geelong Cats v Melbourne

Round 12

GMHBA Stadium, Geelong • VIC

It will be McDonald's 72nd game in the Hoops - and 76th game overall - putting her equal-second for most games played for the Cats in the AFLW, alongside Julia Crockett-Grills. Becky Webster, who is in line to play her 73rd game, will move to outright first place for most games played to date.

The match will be Darby's 59th career game, and 57th AFLW game for Geelong, taking her club tally across AFLW and VFLW to 97, as an inaugural player on both lists.

The match will also be Claudia Gunjaca's 50th AFLW match, a significant milestone for the defender who came through the Cats' VFLW program after winning AFL Sydney's top individual honour, the Mostyn Medal, in 2021.

Be there to farewell Kate Darby, Meghan McDonald and Shelley Scott in the Cats’ last home game for 2025. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
