Deakin Performance Stat of the Week - Stoppage Clearances
The Western Bulldogs thrive in stoppage situations and particularly at clearances around the ground, taking plenty of ground and driving the ball inside forward 50.
In the 2025 AFLW season, the Bulldogs rank second in the competition for stoppage clearances with an average of 20.1 per game, sitting only behind Fremantle.
Isabelle Pritchard has been the standout for the Bulldogs, sitting fourth in the AFLW for stoppage clearances and third for centre clearances in 2025.
Geelong rank second last in the AFLW for stoppage clearances this year, an area they will need to improve on this weekend.
Team Stoppage Clearances - 2025 Season
| AFLW Rank | Team | Clearance Average |
| 1 | Fremantle | 21.2 |
| 2 | Western Bulldogs | 20.1 |
| 3 | Essendon | 19.4 |
Bulldogs Player to Watch - Isabelle Pritchard
Speaking of Isabelle Pritchard, the star midfielder has been very impressive throughout the 2025 season.
Pritchard ranks second in the AFLW for total clearances this year, while also sitting 10th for contested possessions and inside the top 25 for disposals and inside 50's.
The star on-baller has also pushed forward and hit the scoreboard in the Bulldogs past two victories, finding a strong vein of form heading into Sunday's battle with Geelong.
Where Geelong Can Improve - Efficiency Inside 50
It has been an area of concern for the Cats all year, but they struggled to convert inside forward 50 last week against the Eagles.
Geelong had 33 inside 50 entries for two goals, compared to West Coast who kicked seven goals from their 28 inside 50's.
Across the course of the season, the Cats have averaged goals on 17.4% of their inside 50 entries which ranks ninth in the competition, sitting level with the AFLW average.
If Geelong want to finish the season on a positive note, this is one area they will need to improve on over the next two weeks.
