The stage is set for the penultimate week of the 2025 AFL season and it will be two old rivals going toe-to-toe, with Geelong set to face Hawthorn in a blockbuster Preliminary Final at the MCG.
Following tonight's Semi Final result, the AFL has confirmed that the Cats will face the Hawks in the Second Preliminary Final, which will take place on Friday September 19 at 7.40pm AEST.
The two teams have a long and storied history against one another, but it will mark the first Final between Geelong and Hawthorn since the 2016 Qualifying Final.
Further information regarding ticket on-sales for our Preliminary Final against Hawthorn will be communicated to members on Sunday September 14.
The stakes could not be higher, with a spot in the 2025 AFL Grand Final awaiting the winner.
The most recent clash between Geelong and Hawthorn was another Easter Monday epic, with the Cats prevailing by seven points in front of 88,746 spectators at the MCG earlier this year.
All matches in Week Three of the 2025 Toyota AFL Finals Series will be broadcast live nationally on the Seven Network and Fox Footy and streamed live on Kayo.
The 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final will be held at the MCG on Saturday, September 27 at 2:30pm AEST.
