Geelong Cats can provide the following Deakin AFLW Health Update ahead of the Cats’ Round 5 match against Richmond at Ikon Park on Sunday.

There were no new injuries out of Sunday’s game against Essendon. Claudia Gunjaca (toe), who was a late withdrawal, is expected to be available for selection this weekend.

The below quotes are attributable to Geelong Cats Head of AFLW Dominique Condo.

Updates

Caitie Tipping
Knee, 1-2 weeks

Caitie has made great progress with her rehab program and has now returned to full training. We’d like to get a bit of match practice into her via the scrimmage matches first, before giving her the final tick to be available for AFLW selection, but expect her to be available for selection within the next fortnight.

Kate Darby
Calf, 1-2 weeks

As mentioned last week, Kate continues to progress through rehabilitation and has returned to running. We will continue rehabilitation with goal to give her the best run at an uninterrupted second half of the season, and she is likely still a week or two away from returning to availability.

Shelley Scott
Calf, 5-7 weeks

Shelley’s recovery has not progressed at the rate we initially hoped, but she is continuing to work through her rehab program and is a chance to return in the later stages of the season.
