Bowen on the Cats unwavering confidence

Confidence is a massive word that we have tried to build off in the pre-season and off the back of the last few seasons.

Obviously with last season not going how we wanted to, we wanted to train a certain way that allowed us to grow that confidence back.

I thought we played three out of four quarters with some pretty high confidence, going into this next week it is just as big a challenge against the Crows. They are previous premiers, we know what an incredible group they are.

We definitely haven't lost any confidence and we will look to bring that against Adelaide.

Bowen on the challenge against Adelaide

I think if anything, it is the same for us when we have come off a loss in Round 1, it only makes you want to go in harder the next week.

We are not oblivious to that, coming up against Adelaide next weekend and the way they are going to look to prepare against us.

They are going to come with a lot of fire in the stomach, like you have mentioned I think it is the first time they have not won in Round 1.

For them it is going to be a massive challenge, just as much as it is for us and I think it will be a really good game off the back of that.

Bowen on the takeaways from Round 1

We had a brief review yesterday, Monday is usually a couple of days after the game and we break the game down as a team.

Then we look to break off into lines and get into some specifics. We have definitely broken the game down, identified some areas and probably recognised that it is not all doom and gloom.

It was a loss for us, but there was a lot of positives throughout the game both individually and as a group that we will look to take onto next week.

I would say there will be some more review today before we turn fully to Adelaide.

Bowen on whether her role has changed

No it hasn't, I actually read an article that said I was a winger still.

I think that was probably off the back of the game against North on the weekend, I found myself up the ground a fair bit, trying to help our defence and get the ball moving further up the ground. We have a really strong system throughout our group in terms of wanting to support our backs and set up the ground.

I found myself doing that a lot on the wing, that just links in with the half forward role I am playing at the moment.

Still structurally playing as a half forward, but I like to get up and down the ground to support where I can.
