Three experienced Cats have been added to Geelong's initial 26-player squad ahead of Sunday's clash with Sydney at the SCG.

After being managed last week, forward duo Patrick Dangerfield and Jack Martin have both been named and are in line to return in Round 23. 

Jed Bews rounds out the additions to the squad, after stringing a dominant run of games for the VFL Cats in recent weeks. 

Geelong will announce their final team at 5.00pm AEST on Friday afternoon, before heading to the Harbour City in preparation for Sunday's match.

Round 23 looms as another crucial clash with Finals drawing closer, the Cats can lock in their spot in September and take a step closer to securing a top-four position with a win over the Swans this weekend. 

The match will be broadcast live and free on Channel 7 from 3.00pm AEST on Sunday, ahead of the opening bounce at 3.15pm. 

Geelong's VFL team will also be in action on Sunday in Sydney, needing a big win over the Swans in the final round of the home and away season to secure a spot in Finals.
