Two of Geelong’s own football stars, Shannon Neale and Erica Fowler, have been named official ambassadors for the 2025 City of Greater Geelong Run4Geelong - proudly presented by the Barwon Health Foundation.
Both have a personal connection and commitment to the special event’s healthcare cause. Shannon Neale has a keen interest in nursing and will be spending time at Barwon Health’s Emergency Department. Erica Fowler is a qualified Paramedic with a keen interest in improving local healthcare.
All funds raised through Run4Geelong will directly support Barwon Health.
The much-loved fun run will take place on Sunday, 9 November 2025, with the streets of Geelong set to be awash in red Run4Geelong t-shirts, all raising vital funds for Barwon Health. Every registration and fundraising dollar will directly support the local health services that Geelong relies on.
Both ambassadors bring unique and meaningful connections to the cause. Shannon Neale, a promising key position player for the Cats and has committed to spending time in Barwon Health’s Emergency Department to understand the pressures and demands of the environment. This opportunity will deepen his insight into the healthcare areas that Run4Geelong supports and aligns with his aspiration to become a clinician.
Erica Fowler, recently signed to the Geelong Cats AFLW team for the 2025 AFLW season, she’s a qualified paramedic who has moved to the Cats after a distinguished career at Collingwood.

Run4Geelong caters to all ages and fitness levels, offering a range of courses including the Hanlon Industries 10km, City of Greater Geelong 5km, GMHBA 3km, and Villawood Properties 1km kids course. Participants can also choose to direct their registration fees toward a specific area of Barwon Health such as the Andrew Love Cancer Centre, Mental Health, or Women’s & Children’s Health.
