Scott on the opportunity ahead this week

It is similar to every week for us right at the moment, we are feeling like our priority is to work really hard on our game.

We always put work into the opposition and respect what they can do, but I think all of the teams in contention now would be focusing on getting themselves in as good a shape as possible. This is just another opportunity.

It is hard to recreate some of the things you want to work on at training, so the opportunity is to get your game in good order. 

We are not thinking at all about the last couple of games. I get that there would be a commentary around the run into the Finals that teams have, and analysis of whether it is a good thing or a bad thing.

We appreciate that the commentary is valid, but it is just not one that we need to engage in. 

Scott on Patrick Dangerfield

We will take him out tomorrow.

It gives him a chance to have a good training block, but obviously we have a shorter break going into tomorrow.

Then we have a longer break, we don't play until Sunday week in Sydney.

That was what we thought was the best plan for him. 

Scott on team selection

Knevitt will be in the 22.

Clark is right on the edge as well. He has been in great form on the training track and in the VFL.

He has played a slightly different role, we are excited that he is a little bit closer to the team.

Scott on Jake Kolodjashnij, Mitch Duncan and Cam Guthrie returning

It is good for all three of them, they are all on the verge of playing.

Kolodjashnij will certainly play, he would have been right last week so it is exciting to get him some VFL minutes.

Mitch Duncan we will just hold back for another week, off the back of that shoulder but he is in good running form, as tends to happen with upper body injuries.

Cam Guthrie we are still a little uncertain as to whether he will play or not. He is close but the decision is yet to be made.

Scott on Jack Martin

We always thought that one of the reasons for bringing him in was his flexibility, and we were open minded as to what would present itself within our system.

We are still confident that he could play in all parts of the ground for us. It is hard to argue against him in the forward half, the coaches that look more towards the offensive side of the game are pretty keen to have him in that part of the ground.

We are really excited about his progress because we did take our time, I should say it is likely that we will take our time with him at times throughout the rest of the season as well.

We very rarely just decide who our 23rd player is based on rankings, Jack wouldn't fit into that category especially based on what we saw on the weekend.

But using him as the sub is a live option for us, we have been careful with him but he has done a power of work to get to this point as well.
