Scott on Member Thank You Round
You are right I don't track it in detail, but I do have a really good sense of the evolution of the footy club.
I don't think it was that long ago that I was playing against Geelong down here, but the transformation in the ground for a start is amazing.
Even if you were thinking really big picture with the most optimistic lens possible, if 20 years ago you had said that is possible for this club to have 100,000 members given the capacity of this ground, even now it is 40,000 and we are looking at close to 100,000 members.
It is extraordinary, we are all just so grateful of the people that have got behind this footy club.
It does help drive us, I think we have provided good value and we are driven to improve that as much as we possibly can.
Scott on the takeaways from the last clash with Port Adelaide
Things are a little bit different, even in terms of personnel both teams are a little bit different.
I should clarify, I do think the last time you played a team is relevant. The time you played them three years ago is less relevant.
It depends on the shifts as well, I think they have been quite open throughout the year that they have been looking to shift a few things. It keeps you on your toes because going in expecting what you have always got is dangerous against an opponent like that.
Even the last time we played them, we were very aware of how good their best is.
They had beaten Hawthorn really convincingly in and around that period, I don't think you need to look too far with them to see some really good footy, so that is more what we focused on.
Scott on the health of Geelong's list
It is rare.
Even the guys that have been long-termers for us this year, Cam Guthrie is going to play some footy in the VFL next week, Kolodjashnij is in that group as well.
We are optimistic that we could have very close to full availability. Now as we said, the clock is ticking a bit in terms of the VFL minutes that we have available.
We try to plan it that way, but you need a lot of luck in this game as well so we are not getting ahead of ourselves.
Scott on managing players through the VFL bye
There will be a little bit more work, the majority of that group will do a decent session tomorrow.
It becomes a little harder with carry over emergencies and stuff like that, but that is a challenge that we are used to.
All those guys will do some extra work, it doesn't replace a game and we don't chase those metrics anyway.
Given that there is only two VFL games to go in all likelihood for us, it does make that planning of training a bit more relevant for us.
