Max Holmes has continued his ascension up the AFL coaches votes overall leaderboard, entering the top 10 after another brilliant performance against St Kilda in Round 19. 

The star Cat received seven votes after collecting a team high 32 disposals against the Saints, adding eight score involvements and over 800 metres gained to help Geelong solidify their spot in the top four. 

It takes Holmes to a total of 62 votes for the year, moving into ninth place on the overall leaderboard and just 11 votes adrift of current leader, Nick Daicos. 

Shaun Mannagh was awarded sixth votes for his stellar outing on Sunday, taking his tally to 20 votes for the season which is the fifth most of any Cat in 2025. 

The clever forward collected 24 disposals and kicked three goals against the Saints, dishing off another two goal assists and laying 11 tackles to have a significant impact on the result. 

Jeremy Cameron also featured in the votes, receiving five after snaring another five goal haul on Sunday to extend his lead to 11 goals on the Coleman Medal leaderboard. 

It extends a brilliant run of form by the superstar forward, who has now kicked four or more goals in seven of the last nine games. 

Oisin Mullin has featured in the coaches votes for the first time in his AFL career, awarded two votes after playing an instrumental role across half back. 

The Irishman finished with six intercept possessions and three intercept marks, also recording five rebound 50s to help repel a number of St Kilda's attacking forays. 

Ollie Dempsey rounded out the votes in his 50th AFL game, receiving one vote after accumulating 25 disposals, 10 score involvements and three goal assists on Sunday afternoon.  

The AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award is an award voted by the 18 coaching panels on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort by an individual player in a season.
