Scott on the longer break between games

It has been positive.

We always think that when you have a challenging part of the season, there is always a bit of a pay off. We are quite accustomed to it because we always play Easter Monday at the start of the year, so there are some short breaks leading into some long breaks.

We feel like we have got a pretty good program in that respect, you never really know though until you get into the game. But we had a good session today, all the indications are that we are pretty sharp.

Because of that break, we have for a long time tended to think through these periods in the season, and how we manage our list. We have got a few coming back through this period but really, the team is pretty stable and availability is pretty good.

Scott on team selection and injury progression

You would have seen Dangerfield training out there, he won't make the trip but he is looking pretty close so you would think he is very, very likely for next week. Jack Bowes might be a couple weeks after that.

Then we have a couple of long term injuries as well that we are thinking about how we integrate back into the team. Cam Guthrie and Jack Martin played some VFL time last week, they will play again.

Connor O'Sullivan will come back into our squad, Mitch Knevitt will get some more VFL time, Jake Kolodjashnij is not too far away as well.

We have four weeks leading into our bye, but it is going to be a bit of a juggle in terms of how we manage our list.

Scott on Cam Guthrie's return to football

The outlook is clearer considering he has played some VFL time now.

Obviously we are not going to rush him, we would like to see more minutes but we tend not to have a really linear, rigid return to play program for those sort of guys.

It will be a little bit dependent on what we see over the next couple of weeks, but I think it is reasonable to say it won't be in the next week or two.

But after that, all options are on the table.

Scott on Jack Henry's 150th game

When we reflect back on when he came into the club, he is unique obviously and he has been terrific for us in the position that he has played, but he is a bit representative of the type of player that we have brought in.

He is a Geelong boy, but he was a rookie and I don't think anyone was expecting him to come in and play the house down straight away.

Over the course of 150 games, he has become such an important player for us.

It had to be part of our strategy, we had to back in that our recruiting team and our development team could find some players and develop guys who weren't necessarily early picks.

Jack is a nice example of that for all of us.
