Geelong Cats Executive General Manager – Football Andrew Mackie can provide the following updates ahead of Geelong’s Round 12 trip to Perth to face West Coast on Sunday night. 

Cameron Guthrie and Jack Martin made successful returns via the VFL against the Western Bulldogs with the pair expected to play increased minutes on Sunday against Williamstown. 

Jhye Clark is continuing to progress through the AFL concussion protocol, with the Club to monitor him and his availability for this week. Connor O’Sullivan will also be available after being managed last week. 

New updates since the conclusion of AFL Round 11

Updated timeline for return

Mitch Edwards (Management, 4 weeks) and Jacob Molier (Management, 5 weeks)

Mitch and Jacob have been progressing well and have been gradually increasing their training loads after their respective injuries. Both have begun to integrate back into football drills, and we expect them to be in main training in a fortnight.

Mitch is aiming for a VFL return against Brisbane in Round 13, while Jacob is eyeing his return two weeks later against Richmond.  

Jake Kolodjashnij (Back, TBC)

Jake had been managing a groin injury through the first part of the year. Recently he returned to play however has developed back symptoms.

Our high performance and medical team should know more around a new return to play timeline over the next fortnight however our priority is to ensure that Jake is set up for to play consistently in the back half of the year.

Toby Conway (Management, Indefinite)

Toby has progressed his training loads over the past month and has begun to integrate into football drills. 

Over the next fortnight our high performance and medical team will discuss the next phase of Toby’s rehabilitation and his return to play timeline.
