Geelong returns home for a blockbuster clash on Thursday night, as they prepare to take on the Western Bulldogs at GMHBA Stadium.

The Cats found their mojo on the weekend as they stormed to an impressive 76-point win over the Power, inspired by a dominant seven-goal display from Jeremy Cameron.

This week's opponent will be another tough assignment for Geelong, with the Bulldogs ascending to fifth on the ladder in the midst of some strong form over the past month.

2025 AFL Season - Round 11

Geelong Cats v Western Bulldogs

GMHBA Stadium, Geelong

Thursday May 22nd, 7.30pm (AEST)

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Geelong: Mitch Duncan

It has been a sensational career in the Hoops spanning across 16 seasons, but Mitch Duncan can notch another incredible milestone this week and become the seventh Cat to reach 300 AFL games.

Making his debut all the way back in 2010, Duncan has gone on to become a champion of the club and one of the more underrated stars in the game, featuring in two Geelong premierships (2011 & 2022) across the journey.

Duncan sits in the top five players across Geelong Football Club history for total disposals (fifth), marks (second), uncontested possessions (third) and goal assists (fourth), a simply remarkable career for one of the greatest Cats to ever do it.

Western Bulldogs: Tom Liberatore

He probably does not garner as much attention as some of his counterparts, but Tom Liberatore is crucially important to the Bulldogs and is one of the top stoppage players in the AFL.

Liberatore sits third in the competition for total disposals in 2025 (29 per game), while also sitting fifth for clearances (6.9 per game) and sixth for contested possessions (13.3 per game).

The tough on-baller has been equally impressive in 14 career appearances against Geelong, averaging 25.6 disposals and over seven clearances per game.

RECENT HISTORY

The Western Bulldogs have got the better of the Geelong in the last two clashes at GMHBA Stadium, but the Cats have dominated this match-up when taking a look at a more extended history.

Geelong have won six of the last eight matches against the Bulldogs dating back to 2020, and remarkably the Cats have won 22 of their last 27 matches against the Dogs.

Prior to the last two matches at GMHBA Stadium, Geelong had won 11 consecutive games at the venue against the Bulldogs dating back to 2005.
