Geelong's VFL team will be boosted by the inclusion of two AFL-listed players among six inclusions for Saturday's Sir Doug Nicholls Round match against Port Melbourne at ETU Stadium.

Jhye Clark and Ted Clohesy bring valuable experience into the VFL team as they return alongside Todd White, Patrick De Grandi, Lewis Antonac and Doyle Madigan.

For 2024 GFNL Mathieson Medallist Madigan, it will be his second VFL match for the year, after making his debut in Round 4.

Dan Capiron is among the six outs, with the Cats captain set to be managed. Oli Wiltshire (AFL emergency), Tobyn Murray (injured), Taj Wyburd (injured), Mitch Lloyd and Hamish Lucas are the other changes from the Cats' Round 7 team.

The Cats will be striving to get back on the winners' list after a tough three weeks results-wise, in what will be the second clash between the Cats and the Borough in Saturday's double-header, with their respective VFLW sides set to face-off at the same venue from 4.05pm.

Across the next two weekends for Sir Doug Nicholls Round, Geelong's VFL and VFLW teams will both wear the 'Saltwater Stories' guernsey designed by Meeza Humphries, with contributions from her brother, AFL player Lawson Humphries, and their siblings Stephanie and Joshua, with input from their parents Jodi and Ross. The VFL match will be broadcast live on 7 Mate in Victoria. All matches in the 2025 Smithy’s VFL and VFLW seasons will also be live streamed free via the AFL website, AFL Live Official App and VFL App.
