Scott on the turnaround from Round 8

We have had a good week.

We are always striving for consistency, I know it is a boring message.

You can't run away from the fact that there is a bit of a let down following those games, a big crowd, close game.

We probably took a little bit out of the fact that Collingwood were able to rebound so quickly, off a five day break and play so well in Perth.

Clearly there are no excuses in terms of our preparation.

Scott on Jed Bews' Return

We don't have a set template when it comes to long term injured players coming back, it is always the individual specifics that trump any kind of systematic approach.

But it is true to say, he had a finger injury which meant he could run very quickly in a matter of days post-surgery.

He is in really good shape, we feel like we are bringing a fresh player in who is ready to play well, as opposed to one that has missed quite a bit of footy, even though that is the reality.

Scott on the Cats record against GWS

With all these things I tend to take a pretty boring, non-theatrical approach but it is generally because they have been a good team, which is obvious.

If you go back, these things generally in my opinion are quirks, rather than patterns. We certainly don't look back to 2020 and reflect on how we played then with different personnel, it is just so different.

I think the most relevant thing is what they have been able to do at times in the last 12 months, they have had patches where they have been the best or among the best couple of teams in the comp.

Scott on the GWS challenge

I feel like I say it most weeks, but the challenges keep on coming.

We have got a lot of respect for GWS based on what they have been able to do in recent times, but over a longer period they have a pretty good record of playing good footy down here.

We are aware of what we are in for.
