This week the Geelong Football Club is recognising Geelong Foodshare, an organisation that has a substantial impact and a positive influence on the local community.

Representatives and volunteers from Geelong Foodshare have the opportunity to attend Sunday's match against GWS, sitting in the Dulux Community Bay.

The Dulux Community Bay has been established to provide local community groups, families and individuals the opportunity to attend a Geelong Cats home game.

During Sunday's match, Geelong Foodshare will also be recognised at quarter time with an on-field introduction, along with a video explaining the fantastic work they do.

Community Organisation | Geelong Foodshare

Geelong Foodshare aims to nurture the community with healthy food, creating impactful social change. Geelong Foodshare sources and collects nutritious, culturally appropriate food that is shared with over 60 local charities and via two social supermarkets.

Individuals and families can redeem emergency food vouchers at social supermarkets. When customers visit, they can choose from a range fresh fruit and vegetables, milk, frozen food, meat, personal hygiene supplies & other basic toiletry needs.

In 2024, Geelong Foodshare delivered 1,100 tonnes of food or 2.2 million meals to people in need.

Geelong Foodshare has 190 committed volunteers who contribute on average 750 hours per week. Volunteers come from diverse backgrounds, including retirees, students, new Australians learning English and dedicated community members.
