The Geelong Football Club would like to further acknowledge and thank the entire Costa family, for their ongoing commitment and contribution to our football club.

Last year with the Geelong Cats Foundation, the Club embarked on the most significant campaign in our history. Our Capital Campaign, Advancing the Way We Play, aims to raise $20m to support our future facilities, people and the broader Geelong region.

Our commitment to developing our people and investing into world-class facilities, will begin with the footprint of our football department as we evolve and upgrade our Club’s elite high-performance facilities. Our Club will continue the integration of our women’s program, with a new purpose-built locker room of equal footprint to our men’s program, and one that is tailored to our athletes differing needs.

We aim to help future-proof our Club’s long-term home at Kardinia Park with the completion of a new multipurpose indoor facility including a state-of-the-art training field for high performance, community and commercial use.

The Costa Family granted the Club a truly transformational gift to help us realise this vision.

It is the largest gift we have received and is one of the largest donations in the history of AFL, and of sport in Australia.

The $10M pledge towards our Capital Campaign, will be recognised through the new purpose-built indoor training facility, The Costa Family Centre.

"Geelong is our home and our identity. We have an incredible history with the Geelong Football Club. The Club is an integral part of the broader Geelong DNA. The Costa Family is proud to support the delivery of facilities that will bring the entire community together. This project enthused the family for what it means for the future of our community, our athletes and in particular what it will do for women's football," said Robert Costa on behalf of Shirley & Frank (dec), Elaine & Anthony (dec), Lorraine & Kevin (dec), Rita and himself.

A great testimony for the family, a legacy for the Club and an inspiration to others.

The Geelong Football Club is extremely grateful to the Costa family, and we thank them for their generous contribution.
