Geelong is mourning the loss of former player Ricky Graham who recently passed away.

Graham made his debut in Round 5, 1965 against Melbourne at Kardinia Park and would go on to play 35 games over five seasons with the Cats.

Recruited from Geelong Districts, Graham was the 20th man in the club’s 1967 Grand Final loss to Richmond, where he kicked a goal.

Graham played a lot of his football at the Reserves level, winning the 1967 Gardiner Medal for the competition’s best player before a move to Tasmania resulted in a successful second phase of his career.

He was the son of Jack Graham who played 227 games for South Melbourne between 1935-1949 and the uncle of former Geelong captain Ben Graham who played 219 games between 1993-2004.
