Sam Simpson and Cam Guthrie at training.

Geelong dual Carji Greeves Medallist Cameron Guthrie will make his return to football on Saturday at GMHBA Stadium in the final round of the 2023 VFL season.

It'll be Guthrie's first appearance in the Hoops since Round 6 of the AFL season, after being sidelined with a persistent toe joint injury.

AFL-listed players Brandan Parfitt, Toby Conway, and Sam Simpson have all been named to come into the side alongside Guthrie to face the Giants on Saturday morning.

Cats' VFL captain Angus Byrne is also set to make his return from injury for the clash.

The Cats are currently in 14th place on the VFL ladder and can potentially finish in 13th spot pending other results if they can salute against a GWS side who are coming off a 76 point win over the Northern Bullants last weekend.
