Geelong’s game with the Adelaide Crows has been cancelled following the death of Crows coach Phil Walsh.

The AFL commission made the decision following the tragic death of Walsh.

“The Geelong Football Club is supportive of the AFL’s decision,” acting CEO Rosie King said.

“This is a unique situation and the most important factor is the need for all those impacted by these tragic events to have the appropriate ability to mourn their loss.  Our thoughts remain with the Walsh family, and their friends, colleagues and the Adelaide Crows.”

The AFL has announced that the two teams would each receive two premiership points.

The Geelong VFL clash with the Casey Scorpions will go ahead as scheduled on Saturday.
