Geelong Football Club has thanked Georgia Clarke and Kalani Scoullar for their contribution to the Club’s AFLW program after the pair were informed they would not be offered contracts for AFLW Season 8.

Clarke was another inaugural Cat, selected by the Club with pick number 24 in the 2018 NAB AFLW Draft.

The 22-year-old played 19 games over her four seasons, playing predominantly as a forward, but filling whatever role was required of her. She split her time between forward and defence at VFLW level.

“Georgia has been part of establishing the foundations of our AFLW program, and we will always be grateful for her contribution,” Geelong Cats Head of AFLW and Football Pathways Brett Johnson said.

“Georgia is a hard worker and has been a valued member of our squad, and has made her mark in history as one of our inaugural listed players.

“We know Georgia will embark on her next chapter with the same diligence she has shown in her time with our AFLW program.”

Scoullar was a late signing for the Cats’ last season, joining the list to cover one of the Club’s inactive players.

The young ruck played two games of the Cats at AFLW level, having made a few appearances for their VFLW team in the earlier season.

“Kalani has been a great presence around our group, and has made a solid start as a developing young ruck,” Johnson said.

“We will continue to support Georgia and Kalani as they explore what their next steps might be both on and off the field.”
