An outstanding second season of AFL Women’s has seen Georgie Prespakis chosen by fans as the Season 7 Geelong Cats AFLW Fan MVP, presented by Geelong Dairy.

The 19-year-old was voted as the Cats’ MVP on four occasions throughout the season by fans, and regularly featured highly in the voting.

At the end of each game during the home and away season, fans were invited to vote for the player they deemed the most valuable that game. The player who received the most votes across the course of the season was determined as the overall winner of the award for Season 7.

After a strong debut season, Prespakis wasted no time establishing herself as one of the elite midfielders in the competition in Season 7, equally as eager to lay a tackle to force a turnover as she was to go in and win a hard ball to set the Cats into attack.

The skilful midfielder averaged 21.8 disposals, 7.2 tackles and 5.7 clearances a game.

As well as working hard in the engine room, Prespakis also proved she was made for the big moments. She slotted the match-winning goal against the Tigers in Round 1 to ensure the team started the season on the best possible note.

The young star’s rise in league ranks was recognised with All-Australian selection, as well as selection in the AFLPA 22under22 team. Prespakis also polled the most league Best and Fairest votes of any Cat with 15.

Each week throughout the home and away season, Cats fans were invited to cast their vote for that round’s MVP. All entries went into a draw to win a Season 7 team-signed football. The winner of the draw was Peter Dickinson from the 3226 postcode.
