Osca Riccardi kicked a goal on debut for the club.

As part of the AFL’s List Lodgement deadline today, Geelong has informed Geelong Falcons teammates Oscar Riccardi and Ted Clohesy it is committed to selecting them as rookies in this month’s Rookie Draft if they remain available.

Riccardi, the son of 288-game champion Peter, played this season with Geelong Falcons in the NAB League and made a VFL appearance for the Cats in August, collecting 13 disposals and kicking a goal. The 18-year-old midfielder participated in the state draft combine in October where we won the 2km time trial in 6min 17seconds.

The Cats also have access to Ted Clohesy through the Club’s Next Generation Academy (NGA). Clohesy was vice-captain of the Falcons this season, represented Vic Country and also featured in a Cats VFL game during 2022.

Geelong Recruiting Manager Stephen Wells said, “We have followed Osca and Ted closely and have spoken to both players with a commitment to selecting them in the Rookie Draft.”
