Geelong’s Nina Morrison has scored a perfect ten coaches votes on the back of the Cats’ thrilling one point win over the Western Bulldogs at Mars Stadium on Saturday.

Morrison had 21 touches and laid ten tackles in a clear best on ground performance, the match being the third time this season she has polled votes after she picked up four and three votes respectively in the opening two rounds of the season.

Teammates Shelley Scott (6) and Claudia Gunjaca (1) were the other two Cats to catch the coaches’ eye on the weekend.

Georgie Prespakis, second with 41 votes and Amy McDonald on 35 votes are both currently in the top 10.

The AFL Coaches Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year is an award voted by the AFLW senior coaches on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort to an individual player in a season.
