FORGOTTEN Cat Jonathon Ceglar could return to football as soon as this week after breaking his foot for Geelong’s VFL side in his first outing for the club.
The Cats’ offseason recruit has been ramping up his training loads in recent weeks after the April 2 incident.
"Jonathon has progressed to full integration in team drills and will be a test to determine his availability during the week,” head of medical and conditioning services Harry Taylor says.
Cats fans could also see tough midfielder Brandan Parfitt in action as the club’s injury list continues to shorten.
"Brandan has been progressing through his contact and loading program and will be a test during the week to determine his availability,” Taylor says.
Sam De Koning is expected to be available after being withdrawn from the weekend's clash with the Kangaroos with a cork.
Captain Joel Selwood will be available to take on the Demons after a week on the sidelines, while Luke Dahlhaus will also return to play.
"Joel was managed last week and will be available for selection,” Taylor says
"Luke Dahlhaus was managed for last weekend’s fixtures and will be available to return for Round 17.”
Jake Kolodjashnij will be unable to take on the Demons after entering concussion protocols.
“Jake was ruled out of the game against North with concussion and will now follow the AFL concussion protocols," Taylor says.
Young duo Toby Conway and Cooper Stephens could both miss just the one week of action after the two Cats sat out the weekend’s play.
“Toby experienced some lower leg soreness last week and didn’t line up in the VFL. He will also be a test this week,” Taylor says.
“Cooper had a minor ankle issue last week and was managed and will be available for selection.”
Sam Simpson (concussion), James Willis (knee), Flynn Kroeger (wrist) and Cooper Whyte (groin) remain sidelined with their respective injuries.
