Geelong has selected defender Brooke Plummer with its second selection in the 2022 NAB AFL Women’s Draft, taken with the 42nd pick overall.

The 17-year-old is a mid-sized defender capable of creating drive off of half back with her ability to move the football at pace and send it long by foot.

Drafted out of the Northern Knights, Plummer is a strong leader and is versatile, displaying an ability to go into the midfield at NAB league level.

Geelong Head of AFLW, Football Pathways and Player Development Brett Johnson said Plummer's versatility makes her an exciting prospect.

"Brooke is a really exciting, running defender who can play high up the ground and her greatest asset is her penetrating kick," he said.

"She's a really accurate kick too, so we think she can really help with our attack as well."
