Geelong has strengthened its draft hand, receiving Victorian pick 18 from Collingwood in a deal that will see Olivia Barber join the Magpies.

Barber played 10 games over her two seasons at the Cats, playing forward and through the ruck, after being selected with pick 21 in the 2020 NAB AFLW Draft.

The athletic tall, drafted from the Murray Bushrangers, averaged 6.6 disposals and 3.7 hitouts a game.

“We thank Olivia for the energy and enthusiasm she brought the past two years to our AFLW and VFLW programs, and wish her well at Collingwood,” Geelong Cats Head of AFLW and Pathways Brett Johnson said.

“As we prepare for an important draft, the addition of Victorian pick 18 gives us more options and access to earlier talent, which is valuable as we continue to build and develop our list.”
