GEELONG is excited to announce the appointment of Matt Ling and Jackson McLachlan as co-captains of our VFL program this season.

Ling recently joined the Bendigo Bank Cats after four years on the Sydney Swans list where he played four senior games.

McLachlan’s rise to co-captaincy comes after a strong season in 2021, which included being named on the forward flank in the VFL Team of the Year after averaging 18 tackles, four tackles and a goal per game.

Rounding out the seven-man leadership group is Ryan Abbott, Daniel Capiron, Oliver Tate, Tom Feely and Angus Byrne.

Ling and McLachlan will lead out the Bendigo Bank Cats for the first time against Essendon in their Round 1 VFL clash this Saturday at GMHBA Stadium.

Gates will open at 1.55pm ahead of the 2.05pm first bounce. Entry via Gate 13.
