Four Cats are set to bring up milestones as the team takes on reigning premier Brisbane in Maroochydore on Saturday.

While senior Cats Meghan McDonald, Phoebe McWilliams and Jordi Ivey will bring up 25 club games, Sophie Van De Heuvel is set to bring up her 25th game of AFL Women's, fresh off producing some of the plays of the day against Collingwood in Round 3.

Selected with pick 2 in the 2018 draft, Van De Heuvel has played 24 of a possible 26 games since making her debut in Round 1, 2019.

Donning the number 27 her dad Mark wore while playing for Sebastopol, Van De Heuvel has provided the Cats with valuable dash and launched offensive plays, playing on the wing and across half-back.

A talented junior sportsperson, Van De Heuvel had played at the national level in both football and cricket as a junior, and went through the pathways system with Greater Western Victoria Rebels in the NAB League.

Since being drafted by the Cats, though, football has been her focus.

Last year was a big stepping stone for the now 21-year-old, who found herself seeing a lot more of the ball, nearly doubling her average disposals per game.

Against the Pies last weekend, Van De Heuvel showed her trademark dash and an ability to find the ball in space, with her nine disposals yielding 258 metres gained.

Following the 11-point loss to the finals fancy, Van De Heuvel praised the Cats' efforts, hopeful a win was within reach.

"We're just itching at (that win) - hopefully come next week, we'll be able to pull it all together and get the win," she said.

"We just want to take territory - make it long down the (line) for the forwards to be able to create contest, so I think we're getting so much more inside 50s, and scoring more goals.

"(Against Brisbane) we really want to have that win - so that will probably that will be first on the list. But (we want) to impact the contest as much as we can.

"And our second phase running: we want to focus on getting around the ground more, so it will be exciting to head up to Brisbane and take on the Lions."

For second-year Cats captain McDonald, 25 games in the Hoops have marked a remarkable growth from the player who played four games as a forward with the Western Bulldogs back in 2017.

After making the switch to defence with Darebin in the VFLW, the now-30-year-old has been a revelation for the Cats.

Named twice in the AFLW All-Australian team at full-back (2019 and 2021), McDonald joined the Cats' leadership group in 2020 as vice-captain, before being elevated to captain ahead of the 2021 season.

The determined defender won the inaugural Cats Best and Fairest award, and was runner-up in 2021 to Amy McDonald.

Phoebe McWilliams has been a key part of the Cats' forward structure since crossing from Greater Western Sydney for the Cats' inaugural season.

The 36-year-old played 14 games for the Giants, and is the Cats' most experienced player, having taken the field 38 times across her five AFLW seasons.

In 2021, McWilliams led the Cats for marks and score involvements, and has started the year well in both areas, as well as kicking goals against North Melbourne and Carlton.

This season, McWilliams has also rejoined the Geelong Cats content team, contributing written content and heading up the Cats' AFLW podcast CatterBoxes, alongside McDonald, Georgie Rankin and Becky Webster.

Jordi Ivey, who played her 25th AFLW game earlier this season, has proven to be a handy player for the Cats over her four seasons at GMHBA Stadium, having played forward, midfield and defence over the journey to fill the team's needs.

In 2022, the 29-year-old has played predominantly forward, and against the Pies in Round 3, she kicked her first goal in the Hoops, and the second goal of her career.

Ivey had previously played two games with Carlton, where she kicked a goal with her first ever kick in AFLW football.

The Cats' 2021 vice-captain has also been a valued leader for the young team over their first four seasons in the competition, and her strong tackles and sharp foot skills have set the example for her teammates.

Geelong takes on Brisbane at 4.10pm (5.10pm AEDT) at Maroochydore on Saturday.
