Geelong has selected Ollie Dempsey in the 2021 rookie draft. 

Dempsey switched back to football after pursuing basketball in his teenage years. He played school football with Carey Grammar and is likely to play as a running forward. Dempsey stands at 185cm. 

“Ollie is an excellent athlete and showed promise as a footballer in his young days,” Geelong recruiting and list manager Stephen Wells said.

“He has transitioned back to footy, playing with Carey Grammar this year. We will look to continue Ollie’s development as a footballer, and we will be excited to see his progress in years to come.”

Geelong chose to make only one selection in the rookie draft, leaving a spot on the list open.
