The Geelong Cats SEDA Program offers Year 11 and 12 students a dynamic and immersive senior‑secondary education experience, delivered in partnership with SEDA College.
Designed for young people who thrive in applied, real‑world learning, the program empowers students to engage directly with the operations of an elite AFL club, participating in match days, community programs, school clinics, family events and multi‑department work placements. Built on SEDA’s mission to engage, educate and empower, the program provides a unique pathway that blends academic learning with hands‑on industry exposure, supporting students as they transition confidently toward future study or employment.
What is SEDA?
SEDA is an education program that exists to engage, educate and empower young people as they transition from school to employment or further study. SEDA’s program was established in 2006 to meet the needs of young people whose education preference is for an applied and context relevant learning experience.
The partnership provides excellent opportunities for SEDA students to see the operations of an elite AFL club in action.
Students enrolled with the College are provided with some unique experiences and given the opportunity to work on a variety of activities and events, including:
- Match Days
- Community Programs including Bio Cats
- Family Days
- Super clinics
- School programs
- Work placements across different departments within the club
