Delisted by Geelong at the end of 2019, Henderson earned a reprieve after Ryan Abbott moved to St Kilda in November, which opened a rookie position. Henderson played at full-back for the Cats in round three last season but, after a foot injury and time in the VFL, had to wait 17 weeks to play his second match. Dropped for the start of the finals, he returned as a forward for the preliminary final against Richmond to replace the suspended Tom Hawkins. Will provide defensive insurance in 2020.
