GEELONG will welcome back reigning best and fairest winner Cameron Guthrie for its Round 14 blockbuster clash against the Western Bulldogs at GMHBA Stadium on Friday night.

Guthrie returns to the side to play his first game since Round 10 after missing the past two victories against Collingwood and Port Adelaide.

The 28-year-old was a standout for the Cats prior to being sidelined averaging 31 disposals and six clearances per game.

Guthrie replaces Shaun Higgins who has been managed.

Higgins, Quinton Narkle, Zach Guthrie and Rhys Stanley are all in contention to be the medical substitute which will be named an hour prior to the first bounce.

The 7.50pm clash promises to be a brilliant contest with the Cats looking to draw level with the Bulldogs with 10 victories on Friday night, with just four points and percentage separating the teams after 13 rounds.

A VFL curtain raiser between Geelong and Footscray will take place prior from 4.10pm, with gates open at GMHBA Stadium from 4pm.
