The Votes are in for Round 7 of the AFLW Fan MVP award, presented by Viva Energy.

Amy McDonald was the shining light in Geelong’s 39-point loss to West Coast on Monday and that was reflected in the count, receiving 53% of the total votes.

The 23-year-old amassed a game-high 24 disposals and nine clearances in the defeat.

She was clearly the standout player in the eyes of Geelong supporters with captain Meg McDonald (6%) a distant second.

Amy’s hard-working display in Geelong’s engine room also caught the attention of coaches’ Paul Hood and Daniel Pratt, with McDonald awarded three votes towards the AFLCA AFLW champion player of the year award.

McDonald was also included in the AFLW Team of the Week.
