Name: Phoebe McWilliams

Nickname: P-Mac

Favourite footy memory: There are many but I can’t go past the 2018 VFLW Premiership. It was my first grand final and my first premiership - a day I will never forget.

Greatest non-football achievement: Travelling around Europe and America, completing my double degree and buying my first home at 23 years of age.

Best advice you’ve been given (on or off the field): I was playing a game with GWS in 2018 and I couldn’t do anything right. I dropped a dozen marks, couldn’t get my hands on the footy and I ended up really down on myself. At half-time my coach came up to me and told me to never give up because you never know what can happen in a game a footy, your moment could be just around the corner. Sure enough I ended up taking a really important mark and kicking a goal to help win the game. So now even if I’m having the worst game, I always remind myself to never give up because my moment could be just around the corner.

Teammate you’d like to room with on away trips: Jordi Ivey. She’s pretty funny at times.

Teammate you’d least like to room with on away trips: Croc (Julia Crockett-Grills) - we lived together a couple of years back and I’m still recovering. Haha, her music taste is VERY different to mine.

Funniest teammate: Croc. We may have differing music tastes, but we have a similar sense of humour. I particularly enjoy her 'dad jokes' at training.

Funniest thing you’ve seen on the footy field: Falcons always get a laugh and it’s always funny when people trip over their own feet. I’m probably going to have bad karma now for writing that and fall over my own feet in Round 1.

Position other than your own you wish you could play: 'Hoody' (coach Paul Hood) keeps joking that he is going to switch Meg Mac (Meghan McDonald) and I for a game. I’m still waiting for him to move the magnets and put me at full back. Maybe this season.

Hidden talent/party trick: I have a bit of a high-pitch/soft voice, so when I do my “deep voice” it always gets a laugh. Not sure if people are laughing with me or at me haha.

Player from another AFLW team you’d most like to have at the Cats: Pepa Randall. She’s one of the best defenders in the competition.

Favourite player from another sport: LeBron James. I’m obsessed. What an athlete.

If you weren’t playing footy, what sport would you like to play: I used to play netball and really enjoyed it. Mum would love it if I went back and played netball. I try to surf, but I’m not very good at it. That’s going to be my new hobby when I retire.

Favourite meal the night before a game: Low FODMAP pasta

Favourite movie: I love a good gangster movie so Scarface, Goodfellas and Casino to name a few.

Favourite TV series: Schitts Creek. I wish there were more seasons! Love Moira.

Favourite book: I enjoyed The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion.

Favourite singer/band: Bec Goring - of course! Or Alex Lahey - I used to babysit her when I was younger!

Dream holiday destination: Anywhere with sunshine and a beach!

One thing you’d like people to know about you: I’m obsessed with golden retrievers. I’d have 100 of them if I had a backyard big enough!
