Geelong will face fellow 2018 VFL Grand Finalist's Hawthorn for the first time since going down in the decider on Saturday.

The match will be held at Box Hill City Oval with the first bounce at 11.30am.

Currently sitting five places below the Hawks in ninth position, the match will prove a big test for the Cats.

“There are probably six or seven teams vying for three spots, and to go deep in the season we need to win these games,” coach Natalie Wood said speaking to krockfootball.com.au.

“But, as I’ve said before, the priority is around development.

“We’re a little bit tested this week, which will be good for the girls; we don’t have strong availability with some AFLW players being managed, some away, and then the injuries we’ve copped during the season as well.

“This is a really big test for the girls.”

AFL Barwon product Sophie O'Dea will make debut for Geelong.

“We played a number of AFL Barwon players during our practice matches, one, to help with numbers, but, also, there were a number of AFL Barwon girls who were playing really good football and deserved that opportunity,” Wood said.

“Sophie played with us in one of the games at Deakin Uni, and she brings a really contested brand of football.

“She really hunts the ball, she’s a strong player, and with the personnel we’ve got available this week there’s a need for a player like Sophie.”

“We’re really thrilled that she agreed to come and play that role for us.”

Kate Darby, Gabby Deller and Laura Taylor have also been included.

AFLW quartet Dannielle Orr, Jordan Ivey, Rene Caris and Olivia Purcell come out.

The VFLW contest will be followed by the round 14 VFL match between Geelong and Box Hill at 2pm.
