Geelong and North Melbourne are likely to be granted list concessions when they enter the AFLW competition in 2019.

Fairfax Media has reported that the Victorian clubs which already feature in the women's league - Melbourne, Carlton, Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs - will need to give up players worth 100 points on a new rating system so the Cats and Roos can be competitive right away.

"We've created a set of list rules, which aim to allow expansion teams to be as competitive as possible straight away, which we think is important for the competition," the AFL's head of female football, Josh Vanderloo, said.

"Notionally your top rated players are worth 50 points, your low-rated players are worth 10 points."
