Last Time We Met

Geelong and West Coast squared off in the penultimate round of the 2024 AFLW season, with the Cats rolling to a dominant 33-point victory at Mineral Resources Park in Perth.

It was a tight contest early with only two points separating the teams at half time, but the Cats kicked away after half time while restricting the Eagles to a single behind in the second half.

The standout performance came from none other than Aishling Moloney, who remarkably kicked six of the games 12 goals to go with 18 disposals in a sensational display inside forward 50.

Georgie Prespakis (27 disposals, nine clearances) and Nina Morrison (19 disposals, eight tackles) were both instrumental through the middle.

Team Selection

Key Player To Watch

Kate Surman

It is rare to see a 33 year old deployed in a new position, but Kate Surman has spent more time through the midfield with great effect over the past few weeks.

In last week's win over the Giants, Surman finished with 15 disposals which was her highest total since 2023, while also picking off an equal game-high six intercept possessions and four score involvements.

Surman did not lose her attacking prowess however, dishing off two goal assists to have a significant impact in the victory over GWS.
