Lowther on the Cats first win
It is, it has been a bit of a relief to be fair.
We have been playing okay, but obviously it has been well publicised and talked about that we haven't been playing well enough for long enough in games.
It was a challenging start with Adelaide and North Melbourne, then a good game against the Swans but it was always going to be a chance against a team that was 3-0 to show some consistency.
I thought today, in pretty tricky conditions, was a nice game to get your first win. We are very happy.
Lowther on Geelong's two debutants
I think that is the key word, trust.
They have done the work, they have been drafted as high draft picks. Sienna had a bit of an off pre-season with a bit of a sore foot, but you put trust into your players.
We knew that they will get some things right and wrong today, but I think they held themselves really well.
They had great support with Georgie Rankin and Becky Webster around the back half which we don't expect anything less from that, but when they had their chance they took their moment and showed that they are more than capable of playing at the level.
Now it is just about getting better in those areas and backing them in to get better.
Lowther on the midfield battle
The one next to me [Georgie Prespakis] had a great game clearly, but it was a combination of the players, just to build our depth around that space is important for us.
A few of them went forward, a couple of our forwards went inside which was nice.
From start to finish they were really clear on their objectives, against a really strong midfield team in Essendon as well.
We are really pleased for our group and the growth in that space.
Lowther on Claudia Gunjaca
Just a bit of a sore toe.
She fronted up this morning with a bit of a dodgy toe, so that was a bit of a late one during the week that we didn't know about.
We had to hold her out, but hopefully in a few more days she will be right.
