Mitch Hardie has been recognised for his outstanding season, earning a selection in the 2024 Smithy’s VFL Team of the Year.
Hardie was dominant through the midfield for the Cats this year, leading the team in disposals while also ranking in the top five for clearances, inside 50’s and tackles.
The prolific ball winner averaged 29 disposals per game across the 2024 season, collecting 20 possessions or more in all of his 19 matches.
Hardie amassed over 30 disposals on eight different occasions this year, continually leading the way through the middle for Geelong.
Further to his ball winning prowess, the tough on-baller also averaged six clearances and five tackles per game showing his strength in and around the contest.
Another area Hardie developed this year was his ability to push forward and have an impact on the scoreboard, kicking 14 goals for the season.
Mitch Hardie was the only Geelong player to make the final Smithy’s VFL Team of the Year, with Ted Clohesy making the initial 40-player squad.
