Jack Bowes says moving to Geelong is the best decision he has ever made, as he looks forward to playing Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday night.
Now in his second season at the Cats, Jack and fiancé Jasmine are loving their life at Geelong, a decision he describes ‘as the best he has ever made’.
“I am loving it,” Bowes told media at GMHBA Stadium earlier this week.
“It is one of the best decisions I have ever made. My fiancé and I are settling in really well. Second year at the Club, I feel like we’ve built some great relationships here now and it feels like home which is good.”
Bowes has been one of Geelong’s most consistent performers in the Cats’ 7-0 start to the season and alongside Tanner Bruhn, Brandan Parfitt and many others is having great impact in the middle of the ground.
“I’ve been a midfielder my whole life growing up and I’ve just done a whole pre-season there that helps as well.”
After playing 17 games across multiple positions in his first season at the Club, Bowes has settled in the midfield and enjoying working alongside assistant coach Steven King who arrived at the Club during the off-season.
“Steven King has come across and he has been great. Having a connection with him at the Gold Coast Suns helps too. I am just feeling a lot more natural and play a bit more on instinct in the midfield.
“I am open to playing anywhere as well. I enjoy playing off half back, the wing and even up forward if I need to.”

After 87,775 fans entered the turnstiles at the MCG to witness Geelong’s triumph over Carlton, this week the Cats face another big challenge at the ‘G against the fourth-placed Demons, who boast one of the most competitive midfields in the League.
“They are obviously a really solid midfield, add (Max) Gawn in there too and a lot of high half forwards that do a lot of work for them around the ground.
"It’s going to be a tough match up for us, a challenge that we are going to embrace and I am really looking forward to it.”
